Choose an image or video download

A Pinterest Pin is a page that can refer to an image, a video, or content on another website. The Pin link identifies that page; it is not the same as a direct link to a media file. pintload checks the public page for supported files and lists what it can find.

Use the Pinterest image downloader for a photo, illustration, wallpaper or other still image. Use the Pinterest video downloader when you want a playable MP4. The all-media tool above is useful when you are unsure which files the Pin contains.

A preview image can exist even when a downloadable video does not. If an MP4 is unavailable, saving the image will only give you the still picture, not the moving clip.

Saving a Pin to a board vs downloading a file

Saving a Pin to a Pinterest board keeps a reference in your Pinterest account. Downloading creates a file on your computer or phone. A local file can be opened without returning to the Pin, while a board save keeps the Pin’s Pinterest context and source link together.

For personal reference, it can be useful to keep the original Pin bookmarked alongside an authorized download. That preserves a route back to the creator and any license information. A downloaded picture by itself may not include a reliable attribution or permission statement.

When Pinterest provides its own download action, you can use that directly. See Pinterest’s image download instructions. Availability varies by Pin; pintload also cannot guarantee a file for every link.

Find your download on a phone or computer

On a desktop computer, use the browser’s Downloads list to locate the saved file. Your browser may ask where to store it or use a default folder. Opening a media preview in a tab does not always mean the file has been saved.

On iPhone or iPad, Safari downloads are typically found through Files or Safari’s Downloads list. Open a supported file and use the share menu to save it into Photos when that option appears. The iPhone saving guide walks through those separate steps.

On Android, check the browser’s Downloads screen or your file manager before checking Gallery. A file may have downloaded successfully even if a photo app has not displayed it yet. See the Android download guide for common folder and gallery issues.

Understand file quality and download limits

pintload preserves the supplied file instead of re-encoding it. Image sharpness depends on the available dimensions and source compression; video quality also depends on the source’s encoding. A larger display size is not evidence of a higher-resolution file.

The image quality guide explains previews and original-source images. For the difference between a complete video file and a streaming playlist, read Pinterest video formats.

This tool supports available images and direct MP4 files, with a 100 MB limit per downloaded file. It does not convert streaming playlists, remove existing creator marks, or export entire boards. Download availability can change when a Pin is edited, removed or no longer accessible.

Keep the source and respect permission

A download button does not grant a license to repost, sell or adapt the content. Before using a picture or video in a website, advertisement or client project, identify the original creator and check the license or obtain permission.

pintload is an independent utility and does not ask for your Pinterest password or account cookies. Read how links and requests are processed and the terms for responsible downloading if you want more detail.

A smoother save, on every device.

Pinterest downloader FAQs

Is pintload free to use?

The downloader is offered without a payment or account requirement. Requests may be limited to protect the service, and each downloaded file is limited to 100 MB.

Can I use pintload without installing an app?

Yes. Paste the Pin link in a modern browser. JavaScript is needed for the download form; there is no pintload extension to install.

Can I paste a pin.it link?

Yes, when it resolves to a supported public Pinterest Pin. If the redirect fails, open the short link in your browser and copy the full Pin address.

Can I download an entire Pinterest board?

No. This tool processes an individual Pin link. It does not export boards, crawl profiles, or provide bulk board downloads.

Why does a Pin return an image but no video?

A video cover and a video file are separate assets. The Pin may expose only its cover, embed an external video, or use a streaming format this tool does not convert. Try the video-only tool to check for a direct MP4.

Does downloading save the Pin to my Pinterest account?

No. A file download and a Pinterest board save are separate actions. Use Pinterest’s own Save action if you also want the Pin in a board.

Does the tool store my download history?

The application does not maintain a personal download history or media database. Hosting infrastructure may process request information and logs. The privacy policy explains this distinction.

Does pintload add or remove a watermark?

It does not add a watermark and does not remove an existing one. Any text, logo or creator mark already in the supplied media remains part of the file.

Can I download a secret-board Pin?

No. The Pin must be publicly accessible without your account. Do not submit account credentials, cookies or private invitations to a downloader.

Why did a previously working download stop working?

The source may have changed or Pinterest may no longer expose the file. Submit the Pin link again to request current results. If it still fails, use the troubleshooting guide.

Can I use the file for a business or client?

Only when you have the necessary rights. Public visibility and technical download availability do not establish a commercial license. Check the original source before reuse.

Where do I start if I only need a photo?

Open the Pinterest image downloader. It focuses on supported image files and explains dimensions, formats and blurry previews.
